Just because I trust you does not mean I can refer you.
Clarity is the key difference.
Trust simply gives someone permission to refer you.

Yes. Trust is necessary, but it is not sufficient.
I may trust you completely as a person and still have no idea what kind of client I should send you.
Or, I may know what you do but not understand what makes you particularly good at it.
Referrals require recognition.
A situation appears and your name has to connect to it in my mind.
That is why professional clarity matters so much.
Do not make your network memorize a list of services.
Help them understand the problems you solve best.
Trust gives someone permission to refer you.
Clarity gives them the ability to know when.
