What's the biggest mistake people make when they network?
The biggest mistake is entering every conversation thinking, what can this person do for me?
Even when we never say it out loud, people can feel that agenda.
A stronger question is: why might it be useful for us to know each other?
That opens up a much wider door. Maybe there's business someday, maybe there's
knowledge, an introduction, a resource, or simply a different perspective.
Networking works best when we stop demanding an immediate return from every relationship.
Some of the most important people in your professional life will create values in ways you could
have never predicted when you first met.
